Click It or Ticket Blitz Underway Through June 3rd

clickitorticketThe Christiansburg Police Department is joining with other state and local law enforcement officers to participate in the 2012 National Click It or Ticket mobilization.

Click It or Ticket focuses on increasing seat belt use, which in turn reduces motor vehicle related serious injuries and fatalities. This year’s Click It or Ticket blitz will run from May 21st through June 3rd, though officers enforce all traffic laws, including seat belt use, year round.

Motorists should also be aware that traffic safety efforts will be ramped up even more beginning on May 25th and continuing throughout the Memorial Day holiday weekend in an effort to keep the roads safe.

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) statistics show that in 2010 alone, seat belts saved an estimated 272 lives in Virginia. So next time you get into your car, just remember, Click It or Ticket.
