The American Cancer Society’s New River Valley Breast Health Team invites area women to a fun and informative “Women’s Night Out” on Tuesday, May 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. This free event will be held at the Montgomery County Health and Human Services Building, 210 S. Pepper St., Christiansburg. Registration is requested but not required.

Highlander Construction & Development is pleased to announce the company is partnering with the Red Cross and the New River Valley Association of Realtors to sponsor and host an annual blood drive. The Blood Drive will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at the Office Building of the New River Valley Association of Realtors located at 125 Ponderosa Drive, Christiansburg, Virginia 24073. The Blood Drive will start at Noon and end at 6 PM.

The Town of Christiansburg is currently studying the possibility of an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Revenue Recovery Program. EMS revenue recovery programs obtain reimbursement for emergency medical (ambulance) transport costs. Under an EMS revenue recovery program, people who receive emergency transport would later be billed for those services. If a patient is not transported, there is no fee.
