Project Linus-smThe next NRV Project Linus Blanket Day is February 11, 2012 at Grove United Methodist Church, Radford, VA from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Some fabric and batting will be available but donations are also welcome. Sewing machines will be available or you may bring your own. Lunch will be provided. If you plan to drop off blankets that day, please be sure each one is labeled with your name and address (address labels are best for this). Hope to have you join us!

The Vendor Fair at Grove United Methodist Church was a huge sucess for Project Linus of the New River Valley. Thanks to all who contributed items or volunteer time for our booth. We had a great day, earning about $150 for our chapter projects! We did have some hats and scarves that went unsold, and those will be donated to local children via the Elf Shelf program. The remaining items will be on sale at Michele's Beauty Shop in Radford. Please stop by and take a look while you are out doing your holiday shopping!

In the period of April - June 2011 500 blankets were turned in to Project Linus (NRV) and 700 blankets were distributed to needy children. Without all of your help, this would not be possible! Thanks again so much for your generosity of time, talent and energy. The total number of blankets donated by NRV Project Linus to date is an astounding 19,493!

DONATIONS REQUESTED: Project Linus will always accept donations of appropriate material, yarn, and batting. Also, cash donations are greatly appreciated. All of the material is purchased or donated. Donations may be made to honor someone's birthday, anniversary, holidays, etc. If you do this, an acknowledgment of the donation will be sent at your request. Please contact Penny Sweet for more information.
